This a really fun all around mid length that works in a variety of surf. It paddles great for a mid~length and turns with ease. Inspired by Skip Frye and the egg style boards from the early seventies. Works best with a flex fin. Can be made as a 2 + 1. Comes standard with 3/16” cedar and a single box. Starts at $1000.
Luna
The Luna model is my version of a traditional noserider. Nose concave, parallel rail, wide point aft of center, and tail kick work simultaneously to provide lift and a steady platform when on the nose. Everything is blended in a way to not compromise trim when on the center of the board. Take a step back and the tail kick allows you to pivot from rail to rail. Comes standard with a t-band stringer and volan. Glass on fin optional. Starts at $1590.
hull
If effortless speed and down the line trim is what your after then this is the board. Inspired by Greg Liddle. This board works well in point waves and clean, lined up beach breaks. Smooth plane shape, pinched rails, hull entry and “s” deck are what give this board its unique characteristics. It is very different than conventional style boards so there is a bit of a learning curve. It encourages a more front foot style turning. The feeling you get when drawing out a big bottom turn and locking into trim is like no other. Works best with a volan flex fin. Comes standard with 3/16” cedar stringer, single box, and volan. This model is a cross between a vee bottom and a hull. Yet its more user friendly than both. It excels in point waves and clean beach breaks. Hull entry, neutral bottom, and rolled vee in the tail. Catches waves easy. My favorite size is 8’4”. Works best with a rakey flex fin. Comes standard with 5/16” cedar and volan cloth. Starts at $1140.
